Tree Identification Workshops – Winter & Summer Tips

COME LEARN HOW TO IDENTIFY COMMON TREES GROWING IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD

This winter, Regreen Springfield and the City of Springfield Parks Department, in partnership with the Greening the Gateway Cities Program – Springfield, will be offering a special workshop on how to identify tree species growing in Springfield. You will gain skills that will have you an expert in no time.

Winter and summer methods for identification will be introduced during the interactive sessions.  All materials, resource books and tools will be supplied free of charge.

For your convenience, the same program is being offered at three different neighborhood locations on tree different dates… the same single program will be delivered on each date, so choose one that works for you.

Neighborhood Greening Workshops

COME LEARN & EXPLORE THE BASICS OF TREE CARE AND LANDSCAPING

IMG_0062 2Beginning November 15th, ReGreen Springfield will be offering a FREE 5-SESSION TRAINING PROGRAM which will feature hands-on instruction on making neighborhood greenspace, private properties and other open space more sustainable by proper landscaping. Included in this instruction will be training and instruction on simple techniques that you can learn that will help you get a job in the landscape trade, will provide you will valuable experience and make you more aware of what it takes to be a landscape professional. The free training course will be offered on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and one Saturday for 3 weeks, starting on November 15th.

THERE IS NO CHARGE to participate in this program, and all training materials, tools, transportation fees, safety equipment and exam feeswill be provided to you. Training session will be held at the STCC Business Growth Center, One Federal Street, right across from the main entrance to STCC.
