Forest Park Arboretum Grill and Chill, June 24th, 2019

The Forest Park Arboretum was initially started in 2017, and since has grown into a catalog of 300 trees with 90 of those trees tagged. As efforts continue, we strive to get all 300 cataloged trees tagged by the end of this summer, but we need your help!

Come to our 2019 Arboretum Grill and Chill, at Forest Park rose garden, to discuss our Arboretum goals for 2019 and plan our work for the season. Your attendance will help ensure we continue achieving our goals for 2019.

Join us June 24th, at 6:00 PM at the rose garden in Forest Park for food, refreshments, and lively conversation with other Arboretum enthusiasts!

Heritage Trees of the Museum District

pictureTake a tour of Springfield’s neighborhoods to see some of the largest and most beautiful trees in the city.

Regreen Springfield and the City of Springfield, in partnership with the USDA Forest Service, the Greening the Gateway Cities Program and the Massachusetts Dept of Conservation and Recreation invite you to take some time to look around Springfield and experience a whole new world… just by looking up and around you… as you travel through the city’s neighborhoods.

“A heritage tree is typically a large, individual tree with unique value, which is considered irreplaceable.” Peter Coates, 2006
