Olmsted 200: Informational Walk in Forest Park, May 11th, 5:30 PM

Join ReGreen Springfield, the City of Springfield, the Springfield Museums, and the Greening the Gateway Cities Program for an informational walk in Springfield’s Forest Park, where you will learn about the contributions of Frederick Law Olmsted to the public landscapes of Springfield and beyond.

2022 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Frederick Law Olmsted, social reformer and founder of American landscape architecture. His vision of public parks for all people – and their ability to strengthen communities and promote public well-being – are now more important than ever.

The walk begins at the Main Entrance to Forest Park at Summer Avenue. Please park in the tennis court parking lot. The park entry fee, and parking charge, are waived for this event, thanks to the Springfield Park Commission.

Wednesday, May 11th from 5:30 – 6:30 PM.
