Come join your neighbors and friends in this great outdoor adventure …
You might not know what a ‘Bio-Blitz’ or a ‘watershed’ is now, but by the time you finish the day exploring Abbey Brook, you will know what they are, and have a great time learning about them. This outdoor adventure includes taking a close look at all of the natural things that call Abbey Brook home. This includes birds, bees, trees, fish, turtles, skunk, squirrels, and all sorts of other living things.
During the Bio-Blitz, you will work on a team that will count, measure, photograph and record information on all of the living things that you find in this urban forest, which you might never have visited before. Don’t worry, you can’t get lost, and a great time is guaranteed. The team that finds the most natural, living things in the watershed, is the winner. But, even if you don’t come in first place, you will still have a blast.
We will start early, and go all day. You can join us for any part of the adventure, so don’t worry about arriving late, or leaving early. You can still participate on a team of hard working explorers, even if you have only an hour to spare.
Please plan to join us on July 13th starting at 9:00 AM. A snack, lunch and water will be provided. Meet at the rear of Renaissance High School, 1170 Carew Street, Springfield, MA.
Pre-registration is encouraged, so we can make sure that you have the food, drink and supplies you need.

Es posible que no sepa lo que es un “Bio-Blitz” o una “cuenca” es ahora, pero para el momento en que termine el día explorando Abbey Brook, sabrá lo que son, y pasar un buen rato aprendiendo sobre ellos. Esta aventura al aire libre incluye tomar un vistazo a todas las cosas naturales que llaman a Abbey Brook casa. Esto incluye aves, abejas, árboles, peces, tortugas, zorrillos, ardillas y todo tipo de seres vivos.
Durante el Bio-Blitz, trabajará en un equipo que contará, medirá, fotografiará y registrará información sobre todos los seres vivos que usted encuentra en este bosque urbano, que tal vez nunca haya visitado antes. No se preocupe, no se puede perder, y un gran momento está garantizado. El equipo que encuentra las cosas más naturales y vivas en la cuenca, es el ganador. Pero, incluso si usted no viene en primer lugar, todavía tendrá una explosión.
Empezaremos temprano e iremos todo el día. Usted puede unirse a nosotros para cualquier parte de la aventura, así que no te preocupes por llegar tarde, o salir temprano. Usted todavía puede participar en un equipo de exploradores de trabajo duro, incluso si usted tiene sólo una hora de sobra.
