Community Tree Planting – Volunteers Needed, Nov. 17th and 18th
Join your friends, neighbors and family to plant some new shade trees in the East Springfield Neighborhood. This effort, in partnership with the City of Springfield and the East Springfield Neighborhood Council, includes planting 50 new street trees along the roadways of the East Springfield neighborhood.
No experience is needed. Help for as much time as you want. Join us for a half hour, or all day. It’s your choice. Each day will go from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, so there are plenty of opportunities to help out.
All volunteers will receive a free tee shirt for joining in this effort.

Location: Calhoun Park, Springfield, Massachusetts
Time: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: Calhoun Park, Springfield, Massachusetts
Calling Neighborhood Residents! Let’s come together to create something amazing for our community. We’re organizing a community painting day at Calhoun Park, and we need your help to bring a vibrant mural to life!
Here’s how it works: we’ll provide large pieces of canvas and art supplies, and you bring your creativity and passion. We’ll paint individual sections of the mural, which will be later assembled into one breathtaking masterpiece on a large wall at Calhoun Park.
Parking: Parking is available at Calhoun and Chestnut Street, making it convenient for everyone to join in the fun.
Save the Date: The Hanging Date for the mural will be July 28th, with the exact time and information to be determined. Spread the word and invite your friends and family. Together, we can make this mural a true reflection of our vibrant community. See you on July 8th at Calhoun Park!
This Project is sponsored by the USDA Forest Service and ReGreen Springfield.

Help Plant a Perennial Garden at the Mason Square Library – May 6th
Please join ReGreen Springfield for a planting of a new garden at the Mason Square Branch Library (765 State Street), on Saturday, May 6th! We will be planting perennials and pollinator plants in the garden area, hoping that we can add to the ecological and aesthetic value of the garden. Plan to help, observe or just offer support to this effort. Bring your family and friends to this community effort. You’ll have fun and help to make the neighborhood a bit more sustainable, reslient and beautiful.
We will be starting at 10:00 AM and finish at 1:00 PM, when we will have an old fashioned barbecue with burgers and dogs for everyone. Please plan to join us if you are able.
The event is being held on Saturday May 6th from 10am-1pm. We can’t wait to see you there!
