plant a treeParks and People is an adventure in learning about the natural world around you.  By focusing on resources found in your own neighborhood, you will learn about the makeup of  the natural world, its function and the value that it provides to the community.  This adventure is a one-year journey that will help you to become more knowledgeable about nature and the city.

This Summer, there will be three outdoor workshops that will kick off the Parks and People initiative.  The following workshops will be held at Emerson Wight Park, and you are encouraged to attend.  They will be fun, entertaining and a great opportunity to learn.  The workshops are open to folks of all ages, so bring you friends and families to the event.

LEARN ABOUT THE TREES

Emerson Wight Park, Marble Street, Springfield, MA

Come learn about trees in the South End Neighborhood, and what they do for you. They clean the air, cool the summertime temperatures, add oxygen to the air, reduce flooding, make you happier, and add to the quality of life in our neighborhood.

Plan to attend this FREE informational event, which features demonstrations, outdoor experiments and refreshments. This event is aimed at middle and high school aged residents, as well as adults. Even if you don’t live in the South End, please come to the event.

This neighborhood event features several researchers from the US Forest Service, who will lead you on a fun, exciting look at the trees growing in the city. We will learn about how you can participate in helping to care and maintain trees in your yard, in our parks and along our streets. This will be a FUN event, and don’t worry if you don’t know about trees; you will know a lot more when you leave the event.

Parques y Personas es una aventura en el aprendizaje sobre el mundo natural a su alrededor . Al centrarse en los recursos que se encuentran en su propio vecindario , usted aprenderá acerca de la composición de la naturaleza , su función y el valor que ofrece a la comunidad. Esta aventura es un viaje de un año que le ayudará a ser más conocedores de la naturaleza y la ciudad.

Este verano , habrá tres talleres al aire libre que dará inicio a la iniciativa de Parques y Personas . Los siguientes talleres se llevarán a cabo en el Emerson Wight Parque , y se les anima a asistir. Serán divertido, entretenido y una gran oportunidad para aprender. Los talleres están abiertos a personas de todas las edades , por lo que traer a sus amigos y familias para el evento.

Venga a aprender sobre los árboles en el South End Barrio, y lo que hacen para usted. Limpian el aire, se enfrían las temperaturas de verano, añadir oxígeno al aire, reducir las inundaciones, hará más feliz, y añadir a la calidad de vida en nuestro barrio.

Plan para asistir a este evento informativo GRATIS, que cuenta con demostraciones, experimentos al aire libre y refrescos. Este evento está dirigido a residentes en edad de secundaria y preparatoria, así como los adultos. Incluso si usted no vive en el South End, por favor venga al evento.

Este evento barrio cuenta con varios investigadores del Servicio Forestal de Estados Unidos, que le llevará en una mirada divertida, emocionante en los árboles que crecen en la ciudad. Vamos a aprender acerca de cómo puede participar en ayudar a cuidar y mantener los árboles en su patio, en nuestros parques ya lo largo de nuestras calles.
