Parks and People Letter Size
Parks and People is an adventure in learning about the natural world around you.  By focusing on resources found in your own neighborhood, you will learn about the makeup of  the natural world, its function and the value that it provides to the community.  This adventure is a one-year journey that will help you to become more knowledgeable about nature and the city.

In 2017, there will be five outdoor workshops that will kick off this year’s Parks and People initiative.  The workshops will be held at Emerson Wight Park, and you are encouraged to attend.  They are  fun, entertaining and a great opportunity to learn about the natural world around you.  The workshops are open to folks of all ages, so bring you friends and families to the event.

Come join us for a chance to learn about the natural world right here in Springfield on outdoor adventures! By focusing on resources found in your own neighborhood, you will learn about the makeup of the natural world, its function, and the value that it provides to the community.

The following workshops will be held at Emerson Wight Park and we encourage you to attend!

  • Wednesday, July 12th @ 3:00 – 6:00 PM – Birds, Bees, and Bats
  • Thursday, July 20th @ 3:00 – 6:00 PM – Wacky Wildlife
  • Thursday, July 27th @ 3:00 – 6:00 PM – Those Pesky Plants

They will be fun entertaining, and a great opportunity to learn. The workshops are open to all ages, so bring your friends and families to these FREE outdoor events!
