Greening the Gateway Cities Offers Trees for Free

Parts of Springfield have been selected as participants in a pilot program, being delivered by the MA Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, the City of Springfield and Regreen Springfield, that will plant new shade trees on private property in an effort to reduce home energy use for heating and cooling.

Many types of trees are available, and will certainly make a big difference in the environmental quality and beauty of the neighborhood.  Trees will be up to eight feet in height, which will help to make an immediate impact on your property.

This program is being offered to most homes in the Old Hill, Upper Hill and McKnight Neighborhoods, and will take place over the next several planting seasons.  Why not take part in this program, which is offered at no cost to you.  Let us take care of the hard work, and you can just relax and enjoy your new tree… and keep your house cooler, the air a bit cleaner and your neighborhood a bit healthier.
